A Statement from the Politburo of our Time
Amnesty International urged the US to shut Guantanamo Bay, calling it "the gulag of our time".
ACLU lawyer Jameel Jaffer said: "Unfortunately, one thing we've learned over the last couple of years is that detainee statements about their treatment at Guantanamo and other detention centres sometimes have turned out to be more credible than US government statements."
Head-chopping terrorists have found good friends in the ACLU and Amnesty International.
Just as drug dealers launder their money, al-Qaeda is laundering its propaganda.
These accusations sound a lot more credible when they are made by a lawyer in a tweed suit and then repeated by a journalist instead of hearing them directly from the mouth of a cave-dwelling, flea-bitten fanatic with a homicide belt strapped to his belly--which is the ONLY source for ALL of these allegations.
As Osama would say, “it is good to have some friends amongst the infidels…it proves they really ARE weak and decadent.”

It's almost funny to watch the apologists and excuse-makers scurrying around trying to stop the bleeding. Last week, you were engaged in a futile effort to portray Newsweek as a communist, terrorist-supporting global threat to national security, and now it's Amnesty International. I wonder who will be next week's target?
All of this effort is wasted, however, because the truth is like an open wound: you can't staunch the blood-flow with cue-tips.
Once the big lie collapsed ("weapons of mass destruction"), all of the smaller lies start to melt away.
carl: I predict "next week's targets" will be whichever organizations and individuals choose to disgrace themselves. You would defend the "gulag" comparison? Please do so!
Amnesty International should be against terrorism directed against human rights. And it should know there is no way to prosecute an international anti-terror enterprise (war) without making mistakes. There will be disagreement and debate about the nature of these mistakes but also acknowledgement and moving on.
Sniping and rhetorically inverting moral intentions are not honorable actions of someone who agrees with the goal of the enterprise.
carl, what is it that you see "when all the lies! melt away"? Keep talking. Americans will know you for your false vision of the world.
