Charles Rangel Shafts Cuban Human Rights Activists

Last week New York congressman Charles Rangel and 21 others voted against a resolution in support of Cuban human rights activists. Rangel said the resolution's supporters "refuse to give the [Castro] government the respect that it deserves" and added, "I don't think it helps to be supporting insurgents overthrowing the government."

Plainly put, this man is a schmuck. Totalitarian regimes that perpetrate systematic violence against millions deserve revulsion and resistance, not respect. Non-violent human rights activists like those who plan to meet Friday in Havana aren't insurgents.

On the subject of armed resistance against tyranny, however, it's likely that Rangel didn't object to Castro's armed resistance to Fulgencio Batista or Nelson Mandela's to apartheid. What Rangel has is a soft spot for Castro and a hard heart toward his victims.

From the news story:

Ms. Restoy, who left Cuba in 1980 at age 21, said she had grown up observing how figures like Mr. Castro and Ernesto "Che" Guevara had plundered her homeland. "How can these congressmen have the nerve to ally themselves with these thieves and criminals?" she said.

How can they? The answer is "birds of a feather".

Rangel has never opposed tyranny anywhere and has always sought to establish it in America.

Just how dedicated is Rangel to tyranny?

If you look at Cuba you will see one of the most racially diverse people in the world. Yet, there are no blacks among Castro's ruling elite!

Castro is a racist, and always has been.

Rangel is so dedicated to tyranny that he will support a dictator who oppresses members of Rangel's own race.

Mr Kantor

Rangel has a thirty year record of support for Castro. If you question him about it he points to the time he served in Korea.

The good news is the (non-binding) resolution passed by a vote of 392 to 22. Not only does that vote express the US House's resounding enthusiasm for the meeting, it puts a glaring spotlight on Castro's friends such as Rangel and 5 other New York Congressmen.

My Dear fellow George M Weinert V,

Dude, calm yourself, and take some advise from Bill Shakespeare--Brevity is the soul of wit.

Believe me, I know how the political environment in this Republic can tick us tightly wrapped ones off. Especially with the sacrosanctity of troubled homosexuals.

However, you need to be more circumspect with your ripostes.

Be like the Romans, short powerful thrusts with the short sword. Think about your posts at least three times more than the writing of your posts.

DUDE, YOU SOUND LIKE A VENTING TEENAGE GIRL, OR A NUT!--ALSO, AVAIL YOURSELF OF SPELL CHECK!

I personally believe you have something to say, and enjoy most of what you write, but your posts are to long.

HANG IN THERE AND GOD BLESS YOU, WE ARE "WINNING!"

Arrgh! Another FOS troll!

Freedom of speech on the internet simply means you can say whatever the f*ck you want, on you own website.

While on other people's websites, they have the right to remove you.

Why not E-MAIL Sean Hannity, instead of hijacking a thread on MC about Chuckie Rangel and his favorite despot?

(sorry for yelling)

George, why are you hijacking THIS board with your off-topic posts? How are you any better than Carl, who trolls here on a regular basis? IF what you say is true, then you certainly have the resources to find a solution -- or do you really want to be banned from Moonbat so that you can feed your martyr complex? I say this kindly, not in dislike.
