Please Mail a Sock to Justin Raimondo!
In Frontpage Magazine we commented today on the intimate web of collaboration and mutual endorsements between Professor Juan Cole and Dennis "Justin" Raimondo. Raimondo then went and posted a series of characteristically hysterical libelous rants in the Go Postal section of the FPM web page under a false name until an attentive reader "outed" him from his closet.
We wondered what Prof. Cole was doing collaborating with Raimondo and posting many of his own articles on Raimondo's pro-terror anti-American Web site Antiwar.com.
Raimondo is effectively Cole's mentor and sidekick. Yet Raimondo, in his turn, is godmother of a grand conspiracy theory about how dem Joos supposedly knocked down the World Trade Center, all based upon a sock. Yes, a sock.
It seems that a Scottish conspiracist newpaper reported that some Israelis were arrested (and later cleared and released) in New Jersey on September 11, 2001, and that one of them had some cash in a sock. Raimondo then took the alleged cash-in-sock story and erected an entire grand theory of a Jewish cabal supposedly knocking down the World Trade Center to make poor bin Laden look bad. You can read this Raimondo theory today on every neonazi web site on earth. Professor Cole has never renounced his ties with Raimondo nor Justin's 9-11 theory about dem Joos and their cabal.
So we thought the time had come for all serious scholars to help our the Cole-Raimondo team in doing research and in developing their conspiracist theories. We suggest that everyone mail a sock to Dennis Raimondo at:

We suspect Raimondo's 9-11 theory is really based on his frustration at getting coals in his stocking, so please send this scholarly duo some new documentation of a grand conspiracy in the sock you mail them. Help Raimondo build his journalistic credentials!!

Your claim that Justin posted that comment under the name "weasel" is pretty weak. It's just a cut & paste from the Anti-war.com bog. If you really think you have a case linking Justin to that post then please post the relevant part of your webserver log and the email address of the poster. That will settle it. However, we all know you won't do that since the only real weasel that does any posting around here is you.

Do you have reading comprehension problems, or do you read at all? Raimondo has never said that that 9/11 was masterminded by Israelis or Mossad -- he states that the arrested Israelis who were dancing in the streets after the Twin Towers were hit were part of a Mossad operation watching the al-Qaeda operatives who engineered the plot. What he wants to know is: if Mossad were keeping an eye on the terrorists, why didn't they tell the United States about it?
Your remark of "pro-terror/anti-American" in reference to the antiwar.com web site is rather telling. Obviously, anyone who doesn't support Bush's War on Terror, the invasion of half a dozen Middle Eastern nations, and the growth of American Empire around the globe, is in bed with bin-Ladin and hates the United States.
Why are you War Party activists so predictable and monochromatic in your lurid portrayals of anyone that doesn't agree with you? Just wrap yourself in the flag, and leave thinking to the rest of us.

He has been thrown off Free Republic and FPM only after Schwartz punted him. If that alias is him I have been using him as a punching bag for about three weeks.

and his attacks on Prof Plaut were scandalous. Schwatrz roasted him and his response was pathetic.

Actually, no, I reject such a ludicrous idea. Would it be "anti-Arab" or "anti-Muslim" to suggest that the Saudis (two favorite targets of War Party activists) somehow knew that Osama was going to hit America on 9/11, and failed to tell us?
I *do* find it tiresome that everytime Israel is questioned or critisized for actions it takes (or may have taken), the "Anti-Semitic" card once again comes out. Israel deserves to be treated exactly as we would treat any other nation -- an ally today that is in it for its own survival, and would not hesitate to do *whatever* it takes to guarantee its long-range survival and health. If that means screwing the United States in some way, I don't see how simply being the "Jewish State" would prevent them from such action. Arab nations would do that, Europe would do that, Russia, China, Japan, you name it. But not Israel, right?
If somehow the Mossad knew about al-Qaida activities in the United States, and failed to tell us for one reason or another, how exactly does the mere mentioning of such an idea equate to "anti-Semitism," yet bandying about the notion that Saddam was in bed with al-Qaida and somehow partcipated in 9/11 not "anti-Arab" or "anti-Muslim?"
I don't know if Raimondo is correct or not in his assertation about the Mossad's possible pre-knowledge of 9/11, but at least Plaut can get the story straight rather than fabricate items out of his head.

You are adding red herrings as this topic is about Elmer Raimondo.
He has zero evidence and goes off on flights of fancy.Had he said this bile about any other group this would be front page news.
We should also send along some buttons, which Justin can glue onto the socks. That way he will have a couple of little puppet friends to keep him company and discuss conspiracy theories with.
