Bill Moyers on the Coming Fascist Coup

Oh, and just in case any paid Moonbat trolls emerge from the Kososphere to scold me for resurrecting ancient history from the '60s, let me make clear that the vision of "radical apocalypse" which moved self-styled peaceniks such as Tom Hayden and Michael Lerner to promote armed revolution in 1968 remains alive and well among some of the most respected members of the so-called "liberal" elite today.

Recall that on election night, November 2, 2004, before the ballots were even counted, PBS icon Bill Moyers was already fretting aloud about the possibility of a fascist takeover. Here's what he said in a panel discussion on The Charlie Rose Show:

BILL MOYERS: I think if Kerry were to win this in a -- in a tight race, I think there`d be an effort to mount a coup, quite frankly. I mean just…

CHARLIE ROSE: What do you mean by a coup?

BILL MOYERS: I mean that the right wing is not going to accept it.
Moyers is no fringe player in US politics. Aside from being one of the most highly praised figures among the self-appointed "liberal" intelligentsia (and – perhaps not coincidentally – one of that same "liberal" intelligentsia's leading financial benefactors, in his role as president of the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy), Moyers also happens to be a close advisor to George Soros, the leftwing billionaire whose financial clout has given him de facto control over the Democratic Party (see "The Shadow Party").

Moyers is a trustee of the Board of Directors of Soros' Open Society Institute. He enjoys unique personal access to the radical moneyman. Jane Mayer reveals in The New Yorker of October 18, 2004 that, during last year's presidential campaign, only three top-level operatives were granted frequent access to Soros: Peter Lewis, Harold Ickes and Bill Moyers.

When Moyers speaks, he opens a window into the soul of top-level Democrat planners. It's not a pretty sight.

This is all good. I hope Mr. Moyers continues to speak out. The more he does so, the more he reveals his true left-wing bias.

Finally, thanks in large part to the blogosphere, we're able to see what these people are all about.

“But he has nothing on at all,” said a little child at last. “Good heavens! listen to the voice of an innocent child,” said the father, and one whispered to the other what the child had said. “But he has nothing on at all,” cried at last the whole people. That made a deep impression upon the emperor, for it seemed to him that they were right; but he thought to himself, “Now I must bear up to the end.” And the chamberlains walked with still greater dignity, as if they carried the train which did not exist.

LBJ must have picked Moyers up by his ears once too often.
